• Question: is rolling your Rs and rolling your tongue to do with genetics????

      Hey lorea,

      it certainly is!! Rolling your tongue is one of those visible traits that you inherit from your parents…..tongue rolling is dominant.

      No, the r rolling has to do with environment, so which language you grow up speaking. However, some speech impediments can be genetic, so in some cases it could be because of genes. Being able to roll you tongue up in the middle is genetic, if you can do it, one of your parents or grandparents definitely should be able to. 🙂
