I used to be a bit religious when I was younger. I think my work and being surrounded by other scientists has definitely moved me away from religion. Science allows us to learn and understand, whereas I feel religion doesn’t really support that.
The more time I spend in the lab the more I see how complicated but beautiful our world and bodies are, and that makes me more sure they’ve been designed.
I was brought up catholic and we went to church quite a bit. I suppose I believe in something, maybe, but I don’t really like the idea of organised religion so I don’t go to church anymore. I don’t think that science and religion need to be separate though!! Science observes the natural world, I don’t think that has much to do with believing in a higher something!
