• Question: do you think that in the future we will be able to alter people's DNA before they are born, and if so, how long do you think that it will take to develop the technology to do this?

Hey Tessa, yes it is possible and kind of has already been done in a petri dish. The embryo was killed off after five days, however. If a GM baby would be healthy when born is still unsure and I definitely think a genetically modified human should not be created.

      Hi,

I think this is going to take a long time! what is already possible (if not necessarily ethical or legal!!) is to check the DNA of embryos made outside the womb with IVF, and only put into the mum’s womb those embryos with favorable DNA.
