Maybe not on a monday morning (I am still a regular person after all!) but I deliberately chose to do a PhD in cancer research because I’m passionate that if enough, well-funded scientists research cancer there will be breakthroughs. A lot of the reason I enjoy my job so much is I feel like I’m a tiny cog in a very big machine – I’m not going to single-handedly beat cancer, but can contribute to better understanding and be part of a the progress.
