Hi Bob, well nearly all research is about learning more about the world around us mostly so we can improve our environment and our lives. The research I do is at the very bottom of the chain of events, so it looks at very basic processes which occur in all animal cells. From the knowledge we get from this research, people can then apply it for further research into medical applications etc.
