• Question: hi, does everyone in the same family have similar DNA's? and how different are the DNA patterns of animals to those of humans??

      All humans share a very large percentage of the same DNA sequences (probably around 99%). The reason we look different is that you get one copy of each gene from your mom and one from your dad. The way these genes are expressed will define how you look. So you will generally look a lot like people you’re related to. The DNA sequence of many animals is very similar to that of humans, as we share many proteins which have the same functions. One of the reasons why humans are so much more complex than animals has to do with the process I look at in my research, the copying of DNA to RNA. If you want to know more, let me know 🙂
