• Question: How will your work benefit others?

      Unfortunately, my research doesn’t directly benefit people as it is basic research – trying to understand how a cellular process works rather than finding an application for something. Indirectly, I’d hope that it would eventually find some kind of application that would be researched by another lab.

      Hopefully, as part of a big effort by cancer research scientists all over the world, it will lead to a better understanding and better treatments for cancer.

      My work will help advance research into gene therapy which will help the millions of people worldwide suffering from genetic conditions!

      At the moment, it’s some way off. But for the learning of gene networks in plants could one day help develop new crops that could benefit us all.
