Question: I think your research could be very significant and could help many people, do you see it in a state in which it can be used in the near future? If so will you need more money to help make it available?

  At the moment my research could definitely be used as a potential drug target – so a drug discovery programme do find drugs to treat this protein (without lots of side effects!) would need lots of funding. However, i wouldn’t do that myself, that will involve chemists rather than biochemists/geneticists (which is what I am).
