Question: I was reading "Survival of the Sickest" by Dr. Sharon Moalem about genes, DNA and diseases but I got a bit confused. I was wondering if anyone has read it or had any thoughts on it?
Hi, sorry, I’m not Julia, I’m her friend and it was her birthday when we made our accounts 🙂 You might know her as “I’m not a scientist so get me out of here” or something like that – I can’t quite remember.
The book is kind of all about our DNA and genes and about how illnesses affect us. It talks about why some people are immune to some diseases and just scientists views on it. I haven’t really got to that level in class so that’s why I don’t understand it really. I will keep to it though! Thanks, and good luck in the evictions!
If you want to read up more about DNA on a little bit of an easier scale, I’d definitely recommend “DNA” by James Watson. It’s a really good read and he covers loads of stuff, diseases, GM etc and tells some good stories too 🙂

Thanks I’ll have a look for it but I think for now I’ll just stick with normal books… Maybe if I get to A level science I might read more into it 😉
