• Question: If you found a gene which could cause immortality, do you think this would be a good thing or a bad thing for mankind and science?

      I think this would be bad. People would lose interest in the world around them, because they’d think they’d live forever anyway. Also, people would probably lose respect for eachother.

      I think maybe a bad thing – I think maybe if we all lived forever yet had kids and they had kids and they had kids etc we’d probably run out of space to live, and food to eat, and water to drink etc

      Hi Timrichards,

      well the planet is pretty overpopulated as it is if we were immortal, yet all of us still had 2.4 kids that would be very bad for the planet!!!! It would also depend on the kind of immortality it produced, would you stay young and healthy or age? If you just kept getting older and older and sicker that would not be a great thing!
