• Question: Is there any way in which you can control a natural body which is not your own, like in avatar, do you think we could ever have the technology to do this or is it purely science fiction?

I definitely think this could be possible at some point, but as we still don’t understand very much about the brain, it might take a while.

Just sci-fi at the moment! Altough there are lots of experiments where you wear helmets rigged up to very very very very very simple robots to try and get your thoughts to control them.

      Hey Timrichards,

you missed my rant in one of the chat sessions about how I thought ‘Dances with Smurfs’ was total pants!!! I think this movie was pure (BAD) science fiction!
Back in the real world there are some great advances being made in the field of limb replacement….these are for people who have lost limbs…..the joints are connected to wiring that pretty much joins up with the persons own neural networks allowing them to move the ‘fake’ arms just by thinking about it! I think it’s a few years away from being commonplace….but it’s still cool!
