• Question: On average how long does it take to get the results you want when doing an experiment? And how many times should you do the experiment to get an accurate result?

Generally, you should do an experiment a minimum of three times so you can get a statistically significant result. However sometimes you can do all three repeats at the same time, so long as they are completely independent samples.

To get the results you want can take anything from an afternoon to months depending on how long the experiment takes to optimise!

It totally depends on the experiment… One exeperiment I’m still doing, I started about 2 years ago. Other tests take only one day 🙂 I usually have to do the experiment at least more than once to show it’s reproducible.
