      Hi,

I think you should vote for me if you like the science I do. Because if I were to win, the money would definitely help me both be a better scientist (by sending me to a conference where I can talk with other cancer research scientists) and help me communicate my science with them.

Having said that, the reason I signed up to do this isn’t for the money, its because I really think science is way cooler than the normal school lessons suggests and I want to get you guys thinking about science and its possibilities (it cures diseases, it put men on the moon, it builds F1 cars….)

Hey Cally, I just answered a similar to question to a girl called Meg, so I’d tell you the same thing: I know I have really tough competition, but I think I should win for two reasons.
First of all, I think I’m extremely passionate about science and I’ve been told it comes across in a positive way. So if I were to win, and to be able to show a class around the lab we work in, I’d hope I could really influence at least some students to get more interested in science and the world around them.
The second reason is that after my PhD, I want to have a job where I communicate science to lots of different people. So if I won, it would definitely be very good for my CV and by voting for me, you’d helping someone kick-start their career. I’d like for everyone to be able to see the world as I do, as something so fascinating and amazing that living in it and being able to learn about it is the greatest thing ever 🙂
