      Hey Emily96,

Science jokes are pretty lame! I don’t think they help the image much! Science is pretty geeky, which is fine, I love being a geek…..but we don’t have to go all ‘Revenge of the Nerds’!!!

I do quite a bit of stuff to help students in science, one of the places I work does science workshops for school students. They come in and get to do a load of experiments in real labs….then we discuss results etc. I also helped run a ‘genetics in the kitchen’ family event in oxford where kids and parents could come in and learn how to extract DNA and run gels in their own kitchens!!

I think all that kind of stuff helps students…..but also things like IAS, being on hand to answer any questions you might have…..and I mean ANYTHING….except maths…..or physics…..not too hot on chem either…..OK just biology!
