Computer scientists do a host of things from enabling access to data, storing data, and visualisation.
Data mining is particularly important to find patterns or similarity in data. Visualisation is key to presenting results and making the information found useful. Computer scientists work closely with those in other disciplines, and design and maintain information systems that contain information. Without lots of these things, all the information we can access wouldn’t be in a useful form and would no longer be ‘information’ it would just be scattered junk data.
