I definitely find expression of genes (which is what I’m doing at the moment), very interesting, as it’s the basis of all life. I also love reading about evolution and the natural world. I find evolution astounding and awe-inspiring each time I learn something new about an animal or plant. In physics, I’m really interested in cosmology. Just because it’s so fascinating to think how grand the universe is and to wonder what could be out there. I’d recommend to look into stuff by Carl Sagan if you think you might be interested in learning more about the universe. 🙂

Personally (and this isn’t what I work on at the moment) I find developmental biology the most interesting. We all start life as a single cell, far far far smaller than a pin head. Yet we grow into complex, individual adults. How???? How do our bodies know what to do??? how do our cells know if they are a kidney or heart or nerve cell?? How do we get to be so unique???

What do you find most interesting?
